Insurance for Individual Members
Comprehensive insurance package for individual members:

Summary of Insurance Cover
- £2,500,000 indemnity for malpractice, public liability and products liability (legal defence costs included).
- Includes professional liability (financial loss cover)
- Includes libel and slander, breach of confidentiality and Good Samaritans Act
- Includes tuition provided as an individual tutor excluding management of a training school/college
- Includes temporary visits abroad worldwide excluding USA/Canada, provided you maintain a UK address

Business Equipment Insurance
Professional equipment is not usually covered by most household policies. The scheme below is designed for individuals working alone to cover their equipment while at home or mobile.
Insurance cover is available to members who have their malpractice/liability Insurance through Embody. The cover is for equipment owned by you or leased to you. Equipment includes any equipment you use for your therapy business:
- Couch
- Cases
- Towels
- Electrical therapy equipment
- Oils
- Computer equipment
It covers you whilst at home, clinic based or mobile within the United Kingdom. If you work from home then you should advise your home insurers and notify them that your liability insurance covers you for business clients visiting your premises.
Security
If equipment is left in an unattended vehicle the vehicle must be locked at all times. If equipment is kept in a vehicle overnight it must be in a boot or other lockable compartment. Electronic equipment must be kept in a locked boot or compartment at all times whilst the vehicle is unattended.
Premises where equipment is kept must have a minimum level of security, namely key operated window locks on all accessible windows and at least a five lever mortice deadlock on the final exit door. If you share premises then you must be able to lock your equipment in a room or cupboard when not in use.

Replaces damaged or stolen equipment to this value.
Policy excess £50.00 each and every claim (you pay the first £50.00 on each claim).

If you join as a student member on a course leading to a accepted qualification, you can have insurance for your Case Study work (practice treatments) that you do as part of your training.
You can do these in your college or outside.
